"The bobby pins have a heavy matte bobby pin that rips your hair out. I think that needs to be removed from the package and replaced with something else that is more hair friendly."

"The hair pins were difficult to use. I have type 4c low porosity hair. One group of pins were very difficult to open and apply to my hair. The 2 long hair pins were too loose—they did not support my hair at all. This was a waste of money. These hairpins are for people with type 3 or 2 hair, not 4c."

"The regular bobby pins are AMAZING! they do a great job of keeping hair in place. However, the flat pins are matte and too 'rough' for my hair. It's still worth the purchase. They come in a cute metal case which is very convenient for storage and travel.  I hope Pattern produces NON-matte the flat pins soon."

"This is great except for the matte pins. They are hard to use. I have a hard time getting them in and out of my hair. They’re very rough and pull my hair. Other than that, the set is great. Love the lil box they come in."

"I love the packaging, and I needed some hair pins, but the matte bobby pins??? These are very hard to use. The coating is very rigid, almost like an emery board. I'm concerned if they will break my hair."
